CHRISTMAS WISHES FROM GEELONG (L–R) FRONT ROW TERRI 2ND ROW MARIA, DEB 3RD ROW ANDREW, RAY 22 THEBIGISSUE5–25DEC2014 My plan this Christmas is to spend time with my family and cousins. The Big Issue is a great magazine. Thank you very much to all the people who buy it. Merry Christmas to all, and Happy New Year. Jeffrey, Melbourne My name is Shona. I have just moved to Melbourne. For Christmas I would like to go to the shops and see the decorations and go to the Christmas carols and the Christmas concert spectacular. I love to sing, so I will be singing all the carols. I would like to help someone else have a nice Christmas by giving them a card and presents. Love and best wishes for the coming year. Shona H, Melbourne Merry Christmas. I’m going to my son’s for the day. Maria, Geelong To all our customers – thank you for your support in 2014. We hope you tell your friends about our great magazine over the Christmas period. Thanks again for your patronage. Ray and Deb, Market Square, Geelong The very best of Christmas and New Year. Have a good one. Wayne, Station Street, Fairfield Once again I would like to thank Graeme Wise for bringing this magazine to Australia and The Body Shop for their support. Also Vendor Support and, of course, all my customers. You have all helped my girlfriend and me to survive and be happy. Daryl, University of Melbourne I am looking forward to a lovely, beautiful Christmas with my family and my in-laws. I will be going shopping for Christmas presents and I will buy something special for my fiancée. I wish you all a lovely Christmas. Stephen A, Balaclava WA I’ve just passed my one-year anniversary with The Big Issue. You can find me most days at Raine Square or the Hay Street Mall. I’ve liked the extra money that comes in from selling the magazine, and I’m working on budgeting. I’m saving to buy a new tablet! I spent some time selling in Subiaco this year and want to say a very big thank you to all the staff at L’Occitane en Provence who really made me feel welcome. Wishing all my customers a very Merry Christmas! Malcolm, Raine Square and Hay Street Mall The Big Issue has helped me with my confidence. I like meeting and talking to my customers. I have been able to save money and go on a holiday to Pemberton (WA). I wish all my customers a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. I hope you all stay safe. Caroline, London Court I’ve just started selling The Big Issue recently, and people have been so generous and nice to me. I feel very optimistic about the future. Each day is different, and I’m working towards getting a house and my driver’s licence. I’d love to take my son to Canada, see the snow for the first time and live there if I can. Merry Christmas! Sam P, Roe Street Bus Station I wish all my customers past and present a very Happy Christmas and I thank them for supporting me. This year, I saved money to go to Malaysia to see my family and friends for three months; it was a nice way to escape winter. I plan to do this again next winter. Richard L, Fremantle Post Office Thank you to all the generous people of Australia for supporting the magazine and making me feel like a proud member of the community. This was my first year selling The Big Issue and it helped me pay my rent. Thank you also to the people who have bought me lunch and dinner while I was working. Khob Khun Kha! (‘Thank you’ in Thai). Pat, Raine Square When it comes to my favourite Christmas, it’s a childhood one, naturally. In my case, having been born in India, our Christmases were unusual, unseasonal, but lots of fun. Father Christmas was towed in by cows dressed as reindeer.
